Campus Shepherding

Carmen and I will be assisting the Alpha Omega Campus Ministry. Every other Wednesday we will be helping out, doing follow up studies with the new disciples, (and those who have recently moved into the ministry) and helping to build deeper convictions. We will also be serving as a resource for the Campus students to help them with their issues. It will be challenging, but I'm excited about the prospects, and helping to build our relationships with the campus students.

Chance for Africa

The Mission Point Christian Church (San Antonio) has a program called Chance for Africa, which supports children in Africa by paying for their school tuition. School in Africa is not free, and by paying for a child to go to school it helps them to make it out of poverty. Most people with a high school education in Africa can be very successful, but those without it are likely to spend their lives in poverty. Helping one child can have a huge impact; not only on that child, but on their family and friends as well. Carmen and I are planning on coordinating this effort in Austin to assist the San Antonio church in helping a great need. First Bible Talk

On January 9th, we held our first bible talk. We had a couple of visitors which was good, and a few people who would have liked to attended could not. Carmen was home which was great, since she was supposed to be in San Antonio, but she was sick which was a big time bummer. But the talk went well. We talked about the importance of having convictions based on 1 Peter 3:15. Making sure that our convictions are based on truth like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 and how researching what our religious leaders say can build our faith and convictions so we are not, "...like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind..." from James 1:5-8. The conversation went well and eventually went into Apologetics. All in all, a great night.
